Chapter 4
27 At this point his disciples came, and they were marveling that he was speaking with a woman; however, no one said, "What do you seek?" or "What do you speak with her?" 28 So the woman left her water jar and went away into the city and says to the men: 29 "Come, see a man who told me all things that I have done. Is not this the Christ?" 30 They went out from the city and were coming toward him. 31 Meanwhile, the disciples were asking him, "Rabbi, eat." 32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know." 33 So the disciples said to one another, "Did someone bring him something to eat?" 34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete his work." 35 Do you not say, "There are still four months, and the harvest comes"? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, that they are already white for harvest. 36 The one reaping receives a reward and gathers fruit unto eternal life, so that the one sowing together may rejoice together with the one reaping. 37 For in this the saying is true: that one sows and another reaps. 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.
